Marilynn Ham

Marilynn Ham

Born and raised in Michigan, Marilynn is the oldest in a family of fifteen children. She enjoyed singing with her family in churches from a young age and she owes her experience in church music to growing up in a Christian family and her mother's influence at the piano.

Marilynn Ham is a nationally recognized sacred concert pianist and published arranger. She has both a bachelor's and master's degrees in Piano Performance from Northern Michigan University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, respectively. She and her late husband, Bob, taught together at Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas and Bethel University in Mishawaka, Indiana. Marilynn served on the music faculty at Barclay College for ten years and as a retired professor and artist-in-residence at Bethel University for thirty years. Bob passed away in 2016.

Marilynn is a best-selling keyboard arranger for Lillenas Publishing Company and is also published by Alfred Publishing Company and FJH Music Company. She has thirty books published of advanced sacred piano solos.

In 2019, Marilynn married Clarence Prater of Lexington, Kentucky where they now reside. They attend Rosemont Baptist Church. Together, they have four married children with eight grandchildren combined.

Marilynn does piano concerts on a limited basis and is an active church musician. For concert bookings and information, contact Marilynn’s husband Clarence Prater at fisherman5755@gmail.com.
